This concert took place at the Polish shipyards were Lech Walesa and his Solidarity Movement made their first impact in 1980, and it celebrates the spirit of that revolution. It also celebrates the spirit of Gilmour's former band, Pink Floyd. Live In Gdansk also ended up as an unintentional elegy to Floyd keyboardist Richard Wright, who joins Gilmour here, and died days before the release of this, his last recorded performance.

Filmed before an awestruck audience in Dublin on November 22nd and 23rd, 2003, this is a great way to experience David Bowie's REALITY album in a live setting. Of course a number of older songs are dusted off and given thoroughly modern interpretations as well, with Bowie clearly delighted to have such a welter of fine material at his fingertips. In fact Bowie and his band had rehearsed 60 songs for the "Reality" tour, and drew liberally on them throughout the resulting shows. The 30 songs here comprise most of the audience favorites, and include many classics. An electrifying, charismatic performer, Bowie's legend is well earned.

By the summer of 1982 Stevie Ray Vaughn was already a veteran of the Southern blues circuit. Desperately searching for his big break he was asked to play "Blues Night" at the annual Montreaux Jazz Festival in Montreaux Switzerland. Playing like his life depended on it Stevie put on a fiery performance - full of future SRV classics like "Pride and Joy" and "Love Struck Baby." The audience could have cared less. Every song Stevie played was greeted by an increasing wave of boos and hisses and he left the stage bewildered and heart-broken.As fate would have it the would be the most important single show Stevie ever played. In attendance at the festival were two figures who would prove instrumental in Stevie's subsequent rise to stardom: David Bowie and Jackson Browne.
